Exit the A30 Hayle by-pass at roundabout for St Ives. Immediately at second mini-roundabout turn left following signs for Day visitors for St Ives via Halsetown (B3311).

 

At junction with B3306 proceed towards St Ives for approximately a half a mile until double mini-roundabout, here turn right towards the St Ives Leisure Centre. Passing St Ives Junior and Infants Schools on the right, Trenwith Square is on your right hand side.

Many people regard St Ives as the most picturesque resort in Cornwall, with its ever changing combination of magnificent coastal views and narrow streets, which wind their way between quaint fishermen's cottages.

 

Throughout the town there are fascinating shops, craft markets, museums and galleries. St Ives has for many years been famous for its artists' colony and now boasts its own Tate Gallery, opened by Prince Charles in 1993. This spectacular building, overlooking Porthmeor Beach, houses paintings, sculpture and pottery by distinguished local artisits and will also stage exhibitions of works of art from the Tate's International Collection. We also have the Leach Pottery, celebrating the life and influence of its creator Bernard Leach, one of the founding fathers of the Studio Pottery movement back in the early 1920s.

Wheal Trenwith is situated adjacent to the Old Count House Guest House in Trenwith Square, a small quiet residential area with easy access to the town centre, harbour and beaches.  A five minute walk away is the beautiful little town of St. Ives, regarded by many as the most picturesque resort in Cornwall.

 

Wheal Trenwith (Trenwith Mine) was constructed during the winter of 2004 after an old out building used as a workshop for the Trenwith Mining Company was demolished and reconstructed using all the original stone and timbers.  It is, therefore, perfectly in keeping with the original building which dates back to circa 1825.  It is full of charm and character and has been decorated and furnished to the highest standards.

Situated on two floors, the cottage is spacious and sleeps four people. On entering the front door, and leading off from a tiled hallway are two beautiful double bedrooms each individually decorated. There is a lobby with a washing machine and a downstairs toilet and washbasin.

 

The stairs lead up to a large, light and airy room with exposed wooden beams. Two large comfortable sofas and armchairs make a relaxing haven to read or watch Television. There is also a DVD player and CD/radio. A large dining table with four chairs and a well equipped fitted kitchen area provide all you would require for a comfortable self catering holiday. The kitchen comprises an electric fan oven and hob, built in refrigerator, dishwasher, microwave, smoothie maker and much more. The bathroom has a bath with electric shower over, toilet and wash-hand basin and heated towel rail.

Double glazed patio doors open out on to a balcony with a table and chairs, perfect for breakfast or supper overlooking the bay. The view over St Ives town and bay is unrivalled.

 

All bed linen, towels, tea towels, bath mats etc. are provided and there is also a hairdryer, ironing board and iron. Fully gas centrally heated, Wheal Trenwith also makes a perfect choice for out of season breaks. All gas, electricity and water charges are included in the tariff.

 

There is parking for one car at the front of the cottage and a 1,000 space car park is just a minute’s walk away if further parking is required. A bus service runs from the car park in and out of town throughout the season taking just a few minutes and saves taking the car into town – a great advantage in busy times.

 

The cottage is NON SMOKING throughout and does not accept Pets.

A deposit of £200 is required at the time of booking payable by a Credit or Debit Card which is valid at the time of the holiday.

 

The balance is due four weeks before arrival.

 

All damages and breakages must be paid for. A £150 damage deposit will be included in the total cost to cover any damage or breakages or any extra cleaning needed above and beyond what is reasonably expected. This will be refunded in full two weeks after the holiday if the cottage is left in the condition in which it is found.

 

We would urge visitors to notify us immediately of any breakages or damage.

 

In the event of a cancellation, the deposit is non-refundable.We will endeavour to obtain a replacement booking, but if this is not possible, the full amount will become due.

The Minack Theatre is an open-air theatre, constructed above a gully with a rocky granite outcrop jutting over the sea.

 

The theatre is near the village of Porthcurno, four miles from Land's End which is the western most tip of the UK.
